Linux System Administrator
Required Skills:
Experience with Linux servers in virtualized environments (Red Hat Enterprise, CentOS, other *nix OS)
Familiarity with the fundamentals of Linux scripting languages
A solid understanding of the Linux boot process and problem diagnosis
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as Apache, MySQL, Nginx and SNMP
Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining monitoring systems such as Zabbix, Centreon, PRTG and etc.
General knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, HTTP, Load Balancers, Proxies, Firewalls)
Ability to build and monitor services on production servers
Excellent organizational, analytical and independent problem-solving skills
Nice to Have Skills:
3+ years of industry experience focused on Linux system administration
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related area of study
Familiarity with load balancing and firewalls
Strong grasp on configuration management tools, such as Puppet and Chef
Experience maintaining open source packages and/or working with the open source community
Experience maintaining large scale Linux implementations
Experience with storage or backup verticals
VMware administration experience (preferred, but not required)
Experience scripting and writing/modifying code to improve monitoring/deployment (preferred, but not required)
Certificates – LPI, Red Hat, GIAC (preferred, but not required)
