IT Infrastructure Manager
Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, Math, or another STEM field.
- 4 or 5 years of experience designing, developing, delivering, and managing enterprise grade infrastructure solutions/services.Expert level knowledge in many of the following technologies:
- Virtualization, clustering, hyper converged infrastructure
- Storage area networks
- Cloud and software defined services
- Ops Monitoring and Automation
- Network route/switch and carrier networks (MPLS and SD-WAN)
- Firewall and load balancing
- Phone systems and call center technologies
- Identity and access
- Collaboration technologies (email, social, etc.)
- Experience delivering infrastructure services in an Agile environment, strong familiarity with DevOps and Agile principles.
- Experience creating technology/service roadmaps.
- Experience in information security
- Managing on premise Microsoft Exchange and SharePoint services
- Experience installing and deploying IT hardware including servers, storage and workstations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Must be a self-starter and an initiator of action.
- Ability to think analytically and methodically. Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of customer trust and confidence
- Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience interacting with both business and IT individuals at all levels including the executive level
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead planning, selection, and procurement of assigned technology and services.
• Responsible for all aspects of an organization’s network systems and server infrastructure including software, hardware, virtualization, and security components
• Recommends, implements, and maintains network architectures (LAN and WAN), server and virtualization strategy
• Manage organization’s database infrastructure needs and develops a long-term strategy for data storage, computing, and networking.
• Responsible for developing and managing information systems security, including disaster recovery and database protection
• Managing Information Technology Architecture & Engineering Staff
• Leading efforts to research and pilot new technology to improve Infrastructure service
• Analyzing problems and communicating with end users and department managers to assess needs and determine optimum solutions to IT concerns
• Managing capacity planning of all production hardware servers and storage, proactively submit recommendations or proposals in order to meet business demand.
• Evaluating and monitoring workload of staff to ensure projects are on time; affecting change when necessary
• Keeping IT Director and IT Operations Manager advised of current issues
