Product Owner

OJSC International Bank of Azerbaijan (IBA) is seeking Product Owner for its Digital Innovation Factory.

Job Purpose

Product Owner must be passionate and imaginative with rock solid communication skills who will create the product visionconvey it to the squads, and collaborate with internal stakeholders, dev team, and Scrum Master. As a Product Owner, you hold sole responsibility over the roadmap of your squad, daily operations, project execution, and how risks are addressed. You will have end-to-end responsibility for the product backlog management and stakeholder management, as well as the delivery and operationalization of product-specific Epics, Stories and Delivery Sprints.

Key Result Areas

  • Leads products to overall success
  • Observes, learns about, contacts and analyzes end users of the product
  • Gathers user requirements and translate them into user stories
  • Works with multiple teams to understand the requirements and constraints for building the product
  • Writes new user stories
  • Communicates with developers and technology specialists on the requirements and deliverables
  • Creates, maintains and prioritizes the product backlog
  • Specifies acceptance criteria for each user story
  • Writes acceptance tests
  • Clearly communicates the requirements to the team
  • Gives feedback to the development team
  • Facilitates release planning with stakeholders
  • Participates in sprint meetings
  • Builds and maintains a relationship with the stakeholders
  • Tracks and measures product progress
  • Coaches development and design teams with detailed guidance during the product development
  • Integrates usability studies and research into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of banking experience and other related project work experience, or demonstration of high level of understanding of the banking industry
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience gathering requirements and translating into user requirements, data engineering, data science, or software engineering experience
  • Background in engineering, technology, or UX is preferred
  • Experience as a Product Owner / Product Manager with software products
  • Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle
  • Experience in Agile methodologies
  • Strong negotiation and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with a high degree of comfort in speaking with senior leaders
  • Must be a strong collaborator, team player, and individual contributor
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including product metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically
  • Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them
  • Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable and effective workplace
  • Passion for innovation and “can do” attitude
