HR Payroll Specialist

Job title: HR Payroll Specialist
Responsibilities:
- Process full-cycle payroll according to government legislation and company policies;
- Audit payroll records and perform adjustments and corrections where needed;
- Handle inquires and provide outstanding service to all employees and external contacts;
- Create and run payroll reports, and provide payroll information to department heads as required;
- Record and maintain vacation & sick leave reports;
- Create and maintain employee files accurately;
- Ensure that all government remittances and other payments are processed in a timely manner;
- Prepare and balance month end journal entries, payroll and benefits billing and reconciliations;
- Perform year end balancing and reporting;
- Administer employee quarterly benefit plans;
- Ensure continuous improvement of payroll and benefit processes;
- Maintain the confidentiality of payroll information & respect privacy laws;
Knowledge, skills and qualification requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting or Finance;
- 3-5 years payroll experience;
- Experience/knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations;
- Previous experience using HR payroll software;
- Knowledge of Accounting;
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills;
- Excellent organizational skills, working within deadlines and schedules, and ability to think outside the box;
- Must be a team player, and able to work within a fast-paced environment;
- Keen attention to detail;
- Ability to take ownership of duties and prioritize tasks.
