24 February 2021 - Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association (AMFA) is pleased to launch the 10^th AMFA Biennial Conference on “Post Pandemic Prospects: Going Digital” implemented within the European Union funded project “Accelerating development of sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in rural regions of Azerbaijan” (ADSMIRRA).

Microfinance providers are taking progressive steps to embrace digital finance, often starting with the digitization of existing products, services and operations, either by using mobile devices, partnering with a digital financial service provider. Although this trigger benefits for both clients (convenience, security, faster transactions) and microfinance providers (increased operational efficiency, diversification of customer base, rural outreach at a lower cost), digital finance comes with certain challenges and risks, and can sometimes represent a threat if not leveraged appropriately. The following topics will be discussed during the event: Digitalization of microcredit: Challenges and Opportunities, Innovation in uncertain times: strengthening digitalization in microfinance. İn addition to the above-mentioned topics the special section of the Conference will be dedicated to providing overview on European Union funded “Accelerating development of sustainable micro-entrepreneurship in rural regions of Azerbaijan” (ADSMIRRA) project results. The session will focus on the results related to Financial Education program of the project, benefits obtained and challenges, solutions and opportunities for project beneficiaries.

It is envisioned that the 10^th AMFA Biennial Conference will be attended by the Vise President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers’) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mr. Vugar Zeynalov, Deputy Chair of the Small and Medium Business development Agency Mr. Mehman Abbas, member of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Mahir Abbaszade, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association Mr. Jalal Aliyev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Micro-finance Association Ms. Jhale Hajiyeva, Responcible Finance Expert of Microfinance Centre (MFC) Poland Ms. Ewa Bankowska.
